The San Diego Concilio’s advocacy on behalf of the local Chicano/Latino community includes
multiple strategies. One such strategy is to document issues in writing and disseminate our
written analysis to the leaders of local institutions of higher education as well as elected
officials. We include on this link recent examples of our written correspondence, many of which
include specific recommendations for changes in institutional structures, policies, and practices.
Another SD Concilio strategy is collaboration with local entities that advocate for
Chicano/Latino empowerment and links with state or national resources that conduct research
on Chicanos/Latinos in higher education.
